Mayor of the City of Vancouver proclaimed October 21st, 2011 as "MASTER CHENG YEN DAY"

Mr. Gary Ho, CEO of Tzu Chi Canada, accompanying with 18 volunteers, headed to Vancouver City Hall on October 221st, 2011. According to the teaching of Master Cheng Yen, volunteers of Tzu Chi Canada devoted their efforts in assisting Vancouver's special events in implementing green initiatives and have made a positive impact in the City of Vancouver.  Mayor of the City of Vancouver proclaimed October 21st, 2011 as "MASTER CHENG YEN DAY" in recognition of Tzu Chi's outstanding volunteerism and spiritual leadership of Master Cheng Yen.

According to the teaching of Master Cheng Yen, volunteers of Tzu Chi Canada devoted their efforts in assisting Vancouver's special events in implementing green initiatives and have made a positive impact in the City of Vancouver. Mayor of the City of Vancouver proclaimed October 21st, 2011 as "MASTER CHENG YEN DAY" in recognition of Tzu Chi's outstanding volunteerism and spiritual leadership of Master Cheng Yen.

Master Cheng Yen, named as one of TIME Magazine's "100 Most Influential People in the World" for her spiritual leadership and humanitarian vision, is the founder of Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation in Taiwan.

Tzu Chi Foundation Canada, founder in Vancouver in 1992, adhering to the teaching of Master Cheng Yen, has dedicated itself to spread the love to the people through their efforts in relief, education, senior care and environment in Vancouver.

Tzu Chi Foundation Canada's members have exemplified their devotion, generosity, volunteerism, and their efforts in assisting Vancouver's special events in implementing Green initiatives, and have made a profound impact in the community at large.

Tzu Chi Foundation Canada and its thousands of volunteers and supporters, under the leadership and vision of Master Cheng Yen, is one of the key cornerstones of the city's goal to become the Greenest city in the World.
