Aiding Haiti Earthquake Victims

Master Cheng Yen encourages public to send love to Haiti 

When the news of Haiti earthquake broke out, Tzu Chi Foundation Headquarter in Hualien, Taiwan, had already established a special task team to assess the extent of relief effort needed to aid the Haitians in the aftermath of the quake. The Foundation, always in readiness for disaster response, already had 50,000 blankets, 400,000 packs of instant rice/noodles, daily personal packs and medical supplies all assembled and ready to be shipped, pending the assessment of safety and transportation logistics by the task team.

Tzu Chi global headquarters had initiated a global fundraising campaign to deliver the love from people around the globe to the affected people in Haiti.  Answering the call of love, Tzu Chi Foundation Canada and CHMB AM1320 will be accepting donations starting January 14th.  

Tzu Chi Foundation Canada Street Fundraising Campaign: 

Vancouver and Richmond volunteers will begin street fundraising in their communities starting from January 18^th~31^st. All volunteers will be dressed in blue shirt and white pants Tzu Chi uniform or Tzu Chi volunteer vest. The locations for the street fundraise will be available in all T&T Supermarkets and Osaka Supermarket. 

Burnaby, Coquitlam and Surrey volunteers will start their street fundraise from January 16^th~31^st (no street fundraise will be available on the 23^rd and 24^th due to the Annual End of Year Gala event). During this period, all T&T Supermarkets locations will have Tzu Chi volunteers posted to accept donations. All donors can drop by at the nearest supermarket locations of their convenience and do not forget to ask for temporary receipt for future tax purposes.  

In addition, we hope the public will join us in prayers, in whichever way they prefer, for the disaster victims in Haiti.
