Services: Education Introduction

The mission of education is derived from the spirit of "giving." Giving means the altruism that rises out of clear and thorough wisdom; it includes benevolence of all forms. Unselfish giving is the self-expectation of the Education Mission. In practice, this means providing completeness of education with the heart of "Great Giving asks for no return." Tzu Chi believes that children are the hope of the future and society. In hope of cultivating productive members of society, Tzu Chi Canada established the first Canada Tzu Chi Academy of Humanistic Studies in 1997, followed by the Richmond, Coquitlam, and Surrey branches up to this date. Furthermore, a fifth one will be opening in Burnaby in September 2005.
