Charity
- Family services include short-term and long-term support. Tzu Chi provides financial,
spiritual, or special assistance in times of need. Volunteers assist 110 families
individually in Canada
annually. Tzu Chi has cared for some families continuously for more than a
decade.
- Tzu
Chi provides disaster assistance from apartment fires to large-scale
disasters such as earthquakes and floods. Tzu Chi volunteers assist by
personally giving out Emergency Cash Gifts within days of the disaster.

- Since 1992, Tzu Chi volunteers have
been providing group home visits and companionship to seniors and women
shelters, etc. on a regular and continuous basis, which include the

During winter seasons, Tzu Chi volunteers distribute essential materials,
such as winter jackets, blankets, towels, and sanitary products to the homeless
throughout the Greater Vancouver area as well as patients in the Detoxification
Centre in Vancouver's
Down Town East Side.

The community
support program works with
neighborhood organizations to meet needs of individuals and families. Tzu Chi
provides financial assistance and gives daily necessities such as backpacks,
shoes and uniforms to neighborhood schools and local organizations to help
families who cannot afford these basics.
