Humanity

  • Photo Exhibition of "The Journey to the West" retracing Dharma Master Xuan Zhuang's pilgrimage to India and brought back of Buddhist Sutras to China.

  • Partnering with the University of British Columbia (UBC) and supporting the annual Buddhist Symposiums.

  • Promoting harmony among communities regardless of their race, ethnicity, religious belief and cultural backgrounds by hosting the annual Harmony Festival, since 2006, throughout the Greater Vancouver area;

  • Promoting harmony and introducing Tzu Chi's mission of serving Buddhism and the sentient world by hosting Buddha Bathing ceremonies in 2007 and 2008.

  • Annual volunteers appreciation programs that include performances of drama, children choir, and sign language songs

  • Promoted the "piggybank"-followed by the "Bamboo Bank"-concept that everyone is capable of doing good deeds to others and small deeds done continuously and consistently over a period of time can achieve big effects.

  • The Dai Ai (meaning Great Love), 24-hour commercial free satellite television based in Taiwan, is dedicated to inspire more people to reach out and help others. More than 50% of the TV station's operating costs are covered by proceeds derived re-cycled materials gathered by volunteers throughout Taiwan.

  • Tzu Chi Canada volunteers install satellite dishes for subscribers domiciled in Canada.
